Quality control
Our on-site Quality Assurance Department ensures that only immaculate primary ingredients are used in our products. Regular quality checks before, during, and after production ensure the constant maintenance of our product quality. Each primary ingredient goes through extensive examination before it can be processed.
IFS certification
All of the Rübezahl group’s plants go through an annual audit in order to receive the International Food Standard (IFS) certification, which underscores the quality philosophy and the high standards in product quality and safety. Rübezahl consistently receives the best possible mark of the ISF certification, “high level.”
DLG award
The DLG (German Agricultural Society) annually tests foods according to scientific methods in order to determine their quality. With this, high standards are being set. Aside from the careful selection of the primary ingredients, the optimal processing and preparation of the products are part of it as well. Numerous Rübezahl products are regularly being rewarded with DLG medals.
Ökotest
Rübezahl products are regularly evaluated and rated by multiple independent magazines. The magazine “Ökotest” examined 17 chocolate Easter bunnies from different manufacturers for critical substances in its 4/2007 issue.
The Friedel Easter bunnies received a rating of “very good.”
RSPO certification
Rübezahl has been RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) certified since 2011 and only uses sustainably produced RSPO certified palm oil since 2012. As a market leader, we reject the commercial use of palm oil plantations. We joined the RSPO as an active member, in order to support the sustainable cultivation of palm oil. The RSPO’s goal is to foster sustainable cultivation (improvement of the environment and non-discriminatory conditions for small farms) of palm oil.
UTZ certification
Since 2012, Rübezahl also buys UTZ certified cacao and hence supports sustainable cocoa farming and helps cacao farmers to increase the quality of their harvest in a sustainable, socially acceptable, environmentally friendly manner.
Fairtrade certification
Rübezahl Schokoladen is Fairtrade certified since 2010. Products, which are marked as Fairtrade, are produced according to the standards of FLO (Fairtrade International). Rübezahl produces these Fairtrade certified products through its house brands.
The German Initiative on Sustainable Cocoa
Rübezahl Schokoladen GmbH is a member of the German Initiative on Sustainable Cocoa since 2012. The initiative’s goal it is to improve the living conditions of cocoa farmers and their families, together with the companies connected to the production and marketing of the cocoa beans, the German government, and the governments of the countries growing cocoa.
